We were the founder members, along with Rita Ford(Bluespice) and Pam Griffiths(Boadicat), of the cinnamon&fawn colour in the British Shorthair cats . Originally, in 1993, we took our lilac girl,Malsome Delta Dawn, to an Oriental cinnamon, producing a litter of chocolate selfs and colourpointed kittens carrying the cinnamon gene. Other dedicated breeders have come into the programme over the years, helping to extend the genetic pool and developing the British type with the cinnamon and fawn colours. Some "Malsome" cats have also gone over to Europe,to help develop cinnamon and fawn in their continental lines. Malsome Moorcroftboy was the first cat to gain all his qualifying merits at GCCF shows. In June 2007, these colours went into Intermediate status at GCCF shows and Malsome Tabithatwitchit, was the first to gain her three qualifying Intermediate certificates. We are continuing to collate the GCCF breeding/showing results for these colours in Intermediate status. If you have any show results or records of kittens bred in these colours, we would be very pleased to receive your information. This ,will then be presented to the GCCF when we apply for Championship status for these colours in the future.
